INTRODUCTION:

                Not only in India all over the world, day by day the girl's safety issue has been a big problem. Every day we can hear the news of girls rape and murder cases frequently. This brings a great impact on girls in their society. A woman feels unsafe even in her house nowadays. The society became vulgar and showing their strength to women. So our TAMIL NADU POLICE announced the new app for the safety of elderly people and especially for women.

KAVALAN-SOS APP:

            The people who were in residence within Tamil Nadu can use this app, when they have been threatened or when they feel unsafe. This app provides enough information about the location, Nearby police stations to the head office of the police.

             Through this app, police can reach them whenever they have been threatened.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD:

            This is available in both android and apple phone systems. The app can be downloaded from the GOOGLE PLAY STORE or APPLE STORE.

PROCESS TO REGISTER:

 After downloading the app some basic information should be fed.

[Personal phone] [number Home address] [Alternative phone number] [E-mail address] [Date of birth] [Gender]

An additional detail’s like a number, address, relationship with them of our close relative or friends or colleague in their same locality can also be saved as the emergency contact.

             After entering this detail’s we will receive the activation code on your registered mobile number.  Enter the activation code on the required place to complete the registration process. Then you can see the home page of the Kavalan app.

HOW TO USE IN AN EMERGENCY NEED:

             In an emergency situation, the user is asked to press the button on the home screen of the SOS app. Then the app starts a 5-sec count after the count finishes the current location along with a video from the back camera will be automatically sent to the Kavalan team. Then immediately the Kavalan team will contact the registered contact number. At the same time, the current location also is shared with the emergency contact that we have been registered in the SOS app.

-Accidentally I shook my phone which sent an emergency trigger to the police. within seconds I received a call from the police department. kudos to the department for such a useful 'Kavalan' app which will definitely come handy during emergencies particularly for elderly and young women. 

-The app is easy to use. Control room officials reach the victim as soon as possible, but the police officers take some time to reach the spot. 

-The response from this app is so good. If any case a girl stuck up with any problem for sure this will help her. Trigger option in tat app intimating police in the next 5 seconds police is calling ous. Our location is reaching police in the moment of intimation

-A very useful app for women safety and a bad situation for all people good job thanks to Tamilnadu police department and 112 apps is not working now so this app is very useful.

-This app must be seen as one of the easiest and reliable interfaces between TNPD & people. I feel the app needs to improve a lot. Too simple to serve the purpose. It can give far more information like a nearby police station or be able to register a complaint through this(Digitalization).

Even though this app is useful to many peoples still some peoples were facing problems in using it and it has some bugs that will be rectified by the government soon.
